Discover Pandora.com! |
|
|
Have you ever wished that your radio could read your mind and
play artists that you like or artists that are similar to those you like?
Well, your wish has been granted at Pandora.com! Pandora, created by
the Music Genome Project ™, is an internet site for those wishing to
discover new music. You set up your own radio station(s) and tell
Pandora what artists or songs you like. Music analysts have listened
to and carefully analyzed all the music in their library, capturing all of the little details that give each recording its magical sound -
melody, harmony, instrumentation, rhythm, vocals, lyrics, etc.
Based on their analysis, Pandora plays songs that share some of the same
attributes. You can tell Pandora whether or not you liked a specific
song and it will further tweak your playlist based on your feedback.
Pandora also has a profile on each artist, song, and album, and links
to where you can purchase the music you like. And yes, our CD "Venus
In Retrograde" has been added to the library! We discovered Pandora several months ago and have thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. Tom prefers to create separate artist stations so he can listen specifically to a certain type of music to suit his mood while Trinity has opted for one station with a potpourri of artists. Visit www.pandora.com and try out Pandora for yourself. It's a music lovers dream come true! |

Third
Road Home and Friends raise money for |
|
|
On
December 30th, Third Road Home held a benefit at La Dolce Vita for a
propane project on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Joining Trinity
and Tom were S.J.
Tucker, Cara
Cantarella (with Cindy Cable and Clarence Johnsen), Mark &
Jeanette, Calvin Buckles, Dave Merritt, Steve Kearney, Steve Jantzen,
and Kathy
Nelson. Not only was it a beautiful night of music,
friendship and fun, but we are thrilled to report that we raised
$208 for the propane project which provides propane to those on the
reservation who cannot afford it so they can cook food and avoid
freezing to death (the most common cause of death for the elderly on
the rez). If you could not attend, but would like to make a
contribution to a propane project, visit Friends
of Pine Ridge Reservation and click on the "Make A
Difference" button on the menu (the propane projects are found
under "Lend a Hand with Utilities").
For those of you who attended, thank you so much for your generosity and for giving us the opportunity to share our music and the music of our friends with you! |
